Youth Redesigning Middle School: About Us

OUR YOUTH LEADERS

De’Jiohn “D.J.” Brooks, 23

Jose Perez, 22

D.J. was first arrested and jailed at 16. He found his passion for mentoring youth as a teen athletic coach for the Sanneh Foundation. D.J. is Executive Director and young men’s group leader at the St. Paul nonprofit World Youth Connect, a leader with the Council for Black Male Success and one of four Bridgemakers Social Impact Fellows.
