CALLING ALL EDUCATORS, JUVENILE JUSTICE, AND COMMUNITY STAKEHOLDERS!

OUR YOUTH LEADERS

De’Jiohn “D.J.” Brooks, 23

Jose Perez, 22

D.J. was first arrested and jailed at 16. He found his passion for mentoring youth as a teen athletic coach for the Sanneh Foundation. D.J. is Executive Director and young men’s group leader at the St. Paul nonprofit World Youth Connect, a leader with the Council for Black Male Success and one of four Bridgemakers Social Impact Fellows.

Jose has firsthand experience with the juvenile justice system. Jose is also a proud graduate of the High School for Recording Arts in St. Paul and is prime example of the impact of students having access to non-traditional school models. Jose is the youngest appointed official to the City of St. Paul City Council (Reparations Legislative Advisory Committee) and is a youth executive and board member for Bridgemakers.
